Back again with another deck profile.
We are only 1 day further since the new box has dropped but I just wanted to share my thoughts on the new box/cards we have at our disposal.
First of, I do NOT like being RIP locked atm. This lets you end on a board consisting of a few links that can pop (a mass negate from Dry or a bounce from Beng). In a meta where Stardust is prevalent this is just a bit silly to me.
That said, here are my welcomed additions:
Armored Lizard. Just like Coatl but more flexible. Also provides a bounce.
Selene Snapper. Just like Knightmare Phoenix but it pops 2.
Chain Coils. Best addition to the deck. 1 monster effect from your opponent and you can turn of hand traps for the rest of the turn.
Stag Soverein. Pops 2 - non targeting! Very solid end piece card.
Ragnaraika Bloom. Not playing it right now but its second effect to revive is certainly worth nothing. It also works with Forbidden Droplet since it stays on the field.
Like always, I tend to play Ogdoadic with an engine. Anything that can make a Rank8 without using it´s normal summon is solid.
Horus, Therion and P.U.N.K are good examples.
I specifically like The Power of All Creation because it lets you search anything you want on both turns. Since Stardust is the deck to beat, Discord sees play. For some of you that argue ´yeah but they can out that with their skill´. True. I´m willing to take that risk. You can easily end on Roach with the deck so feel free to include it in the extra deck.
Another good thing is that the skill grants you an additional normal summon for Primal Dragon. I´m running 3 of it to trigger the skill to search Ten Thousand Dragon or just another Primal Dragon to discard for Snake Rain, Imsety etc.
For this reason I´ve included the double Tachyon. This makes both parts of the skill live at any time.
I´ve also included Chaos Angel again. Keurse and Aron are both light and with the tokens from daybreak you can go into it pretty easily. In a pinch it acts as a wall against Stardust.
