It is unethical for Europeans to use air conditioning during this heat wave.

Air conditioning is a high carbon activity. The exact sort of activity that has created this crisis in the first place. Using an AC during this is just exacerbating the problem.

On top of the obvious irony that AC creates a negative feedback loop of increasing temperatures, it should be kept in mind that climate change has its roots in the colonial tradition of Western Europe. While Western Europeans sit in their air conditioned homes, the victims of colonisation have to endure the repercussions of centuries of uncapped pollution.

In short, not only should AC in Europe be illegal, we should view the heatwave as a bit of justice for colonisation. If you are a european, I encourage you to go out in the sun, sit down, and atone for your sins.
