A few questions from a FromSoft glazer…

💬 Discussion

As soon as I heard there’s a parry, stamina bar, bosses, a dodge, methodical combat, build variety and much more I was essentially sold and after experiencing Elden Ring and then going through FromSoft’s modern catalogue of games with pure joy (in all my 20+ years of gaming, they’re some of the greatest and most consistent games I’ve ever played)…

I have a few questions before pulling the trigger on this game because I’m pretty certain it’s trying new things I’ve never experienced, but overall it’s very intriguing to me.

  1. Is it a game where there’s sort of… endless content? I don’t know how to explain it but I heard PoE has an Endgame where you can keep playing forever but then there’s like a big reset when a new season comes, I think? I don’t know if this game works like that. Or if it’s “You killed the final boss, go into NG+, then again into NG++ and so on”.

  2. Is there any punishment for dying? My friend was playing last night and said enemies didn’t respawn after you die and there was no currency to pick up at your most recent death and in my eyes, the journey back to your bloodstain I believe is a fundamental mechanic of being a souls-like.

  3. Do we know how many bosses are in the game now and/or if there is going to be more added over the games lifespan? Or if this is live service where they keep pumping out new content? For example: in Crimson Desert, they keep adding new stuff weekly to keep it fresh. Or in Nightreign, they added more powerful variations of final bosses over time.

  4. Will there be Steam Achievements available to earn once 1.0 is released and if I buy the Early Access?
