Layering Rain Over the Mask Helped My Ringing Noise in Ear Feel Softer
Plain static covered my ringing noise in ear but it felt harsh, so I started layering something warmer over it.
To be clear this is comfort and masking only, not a cure for ringing noise in ear, and not medical advice, so check with an audiologist if it is persistent or new. What works for me is a pitch matched noise color underneath with soft rain layered on top, which makes the mask feel like a gentle environment instead of a hiss. I keep the noise color set to my ringing's pitch and let the rain do the soothing, each layer at its own volume. It feels kinder, and I notice the ringing less.
A warm layered mask, easier to sit with.
I use an app called Mindael because I can layer a pitch matched noise color with real rain and set each layer's level so neither overwhelms the other. Mindael loops the whole mix seamlessly and can fade it out at bedtime.

If raw static feels harsh, layer something soft over your pitch matched mask. Mindael is what I use, not medical advice. What do you layer for comfort?
