Alicent may be the most selfish character in HOTD
Her brother and lover are currently fighting this war for Aegon's right to the throne. Did she forget about this? Is she not going to tell them what she did? ESPECIALLY to her brother she seemed to have a close relationship with? Is she also not going to tell Ormund who is currently bringing her youngest child around with him to also fight in this war for Aegon what she is doing? Its all about her. Number one. Are we meant to actually feel sympathetic to her? I am being so serious. Are we meant to clap our hands like 'yeah, mama, fuck over everyone in your family to save your own skin'. Nevermind her weird grooming (it is grooming, don't even argue with me) to Aemond to send him to his death in Harrenhal.
What is her endgame? When all her family is dead -- her children -- then what? As long as she survived its all good? Lord they had an opportunity to use the Alicent in the book that stood on business, ten toes down for her children and family, never defected. But nope, we got this Alicent that is somehow more evil than anything book her did.
I love a morally grey character, loved her in season 1, but I know they are trying to make her a victim of patriarchy, not morally grey, and its backfiring so damn bad. She holds loyalty to nothing, to no-one. What is the purpose of her character?
The writing is so so WANK
