would you feel about your family member changing your child into clothing they bought and keeping it at their house?

for context im really into fashion and shoes. im always giving my sister clothes and shoes for my nephew. he’s 2, everything has always been given to her to keep at their house. i recently just bought a few nice outfits and pair of new balance shoes to keep here.

i asked my sister if i can get my nephew the other week. she sent him in jordans and a light colored set, we were going to the park and out to eat so i changed him into a black outfit and the new balances i have here. i sent pics of us out and she complimented the outfit i changed him into.

fast forward to the other day. i was planning on taking him to a splash pad and picking him up from daycare. he’s been potty training for a few months now so they don’t send him a change of clothes to the daycare.
i told my sister that went to the store to buy him a small pack of boxers so he could have dry ones to change into.

my mom was getting him changed into clean clothes before he went home and i asked her if she could put his underwear back on he came in. i was getting ready to wash the dirty clothes she took off. i didn’t mean anything by this nor was i doing it in a controlling way. the pack i got only came with 3, and i know my sister has more than enough underwear at her house lol.

my sister or mom didn’t have an issue with it but all this to say. i was scrolling on a subreddit earlier and seen this really long post. OP was weirded out by their MIL having clothes for her child at her house that she often changes her son into. OP said they find it possessive/creepy to do that because her child “isn’t a doll” and he’s to wear the clothes she sent.

there were many comments agreeing sharing similar opinions speaking about their different family members that do the same.

maybe im struggling to see the issue because i do the same. but in no way am i trying to be weird or anything of the sort. who doesn’t want to see their loved one in a cute outfit they bought?especially if you’re taking them out in public. and how is it a crime to keep clothes at your house if the child visits a lot??? i genuinely do not see the issue.

this immediately made me think about those 2 instances and now i just kind of feel weird. i hope my sister doesn’t feel this way towards me.
