She posted a video from when E was 2 months old and in the NICU, showing her first time holding her skin to skin. As a NICU nurse, this proves to me just how sick E has been from day 1. Most parents have to wait a few days or even a week or two to hold their micropreemie of a similar gestational age to E. But Pepper had to wait just over 2 months. We wouldn’t hold off on having a parent hold skin to skin that long unless she was too unstable to do so safely because of how sick she was. Poor girl has been down bad since day one of life.
