Elevated RHR suppressed hrv/distance runner
April was my best training month to date, banking 80-110km weeks(running) felt great, but noticed I hadn’t been recovering as well at the beginning of May. I took a few easy days but still wasn’t 100percent. I then got a bad sinus infection which then went to my eyes. I was sick on and off for 2-3 weeks. In this time my RHR was up from 47-54 plus and hrv suppressed. It’s now been 6 weeks plus ans I still have the same RHR and suppressed hrv. Have switched out the running for ruck hiking and doing more strength work to try and reduce whatever load I can. But metrics are still the same, has anyone else experienced this from possible training load and illness, causing metrics to be off for weeks to months?
