Renting a room in Madrid

So I’m planning to do an evening Spanish course in Madrid for 6-8 weeks around September - October time, continuing to work my UK 9-5 remotely during the day. I’ve been looking at the course at Inhispania which covers 4 hours of classes a week, over 2 evenings, and adding on some additional private classes to this. I’ve been learning Spanish for over a year via preply, usually doing 2 x 1 hour classes a week, but hoping being based out of Spain for a month or two, and immersing myself in the language and culture, will help take me to the next level.

Has anyone got any experience with this and can provide any advice/recommendations? Initially I was looking at staying in a homestay, but thinking it may be better if I could stay in a house share with some younger Spanish people, preferably queer, so that I could also make some friends during my stay.
