Waking Up with a Numb Arm
Last night I woke up suddenly with my arm numb, which had been positioned behind my head. The abrupt awakening made my arm move forward, but it was completely insensitive: I could only move it by shifting my body or using my left hand to help it.
The sensation lasted about 30 seconds, after which it gradually started to return to normal. In those few seconds, it was a really unpleasant experience—I honestly thought for a moment that I might have somehow broken or damaged it during sleep.
I think I’ve just discovered a new fear.
