three months until I can take action against my rapist

Lots of feelings, lots of writing, and lots of reflecting.

It's been 6 months since he raped and abused me in Chicago. I'm not in Chicago and won't be for the next three months. However, as soon as I land in the city I know what I will do. I can't file a report now because I've made the mistake of doing it before, police can't do anything in another state until they receive firm confirmation from me by arriving to my house. Unfortunately my family, who I live with, will disown me if they find out. So until then, I will wait and take action where it will matter.

It's a grueling amount of time to wait for and I want justice now, I hope every girl he encounters saves themselves from the same fate I did. I know the longer I wait, the less my report will be taken seriously. It would've been 9 months since it happened, but I pray the law will still be on my side.
