whats the likelihood the person who broke up with you is too scared to break no contact first?

venting/ranting

ive been thinking about it a lot lately because i know i want to break no contact eventually, but considering it's only been about 7 weeks and it was a very explosive seperation, i dont feel like it's been nearly long enough to really make a difference to how he felt then.

sure, emotions could have simmered down by now and maybe we could have a calm conversation about what happened, but i want to get to a place where i will be okay and feel okay about it regardless of if i get reconciliation or rejected.

but, knowing my ex, he can be really anxious. and i know he worried that hed scare me away and that he really didn't want our relationship to end (before he reactively ended it, and it was nothing i did personally to him like cheating or abuse, just past mistakes i had made in a previous relationship.)

but he was so cold and angry the last time we spoke that i dont know if anything has changed. im thinking about reaching out in a few months, maybe when college starts for us in august if he hasnt reached out by then, and at the very least starting fresh will mean that i have an answer on whether we'll try again or if its time i move on and start revolving my life around me and only me.

i mostly want to know what your guys' thoughts and experiences are when breaking no contact, especially when you don't expect a positive response.
