The fact that Milly was so great makes the movie even more frustrating

She was amazing and a complete homerun in both casting and her performance. Which makes the whole movie feel like even more of a fumble and missed opportunity.

You nailed the most important piece of the movie. If the person playing Supergirl doesn’t resonate, the movie is doa.

Even with Milly, it just felt generic in the worst way. Not going to go into specifics because of spoilers. But just a missed opportunity imo and I hope Milly continues on as Supergirl with some drastically improved writing.
