Cheapest Sim Option for USA

Hi. I am visiting the States for 2 months (Galveston, Houston, Iowa City, Detroit). I am exploring options for a good sim. I would be connected to wi-fi for majority of the time, and would need internet/ data mainly while I am travelling locally. So 1GB/month may be enough. But I hope to have some extra for emergencies (let’s say 5GB/month sounds good). I might also need some calling credit nationally (within the States). I don’t need international calling (I would use WhatsApp/ FaceTime).

What would be the cheapest but reliable option?

I like 5GB data/month + unlimited calling option for $19.5 total for 3 months, offered by Lyca. But I read a lot of negative reviews. So I would appreciate some additional insight on that. Also, any other options in similar cost range would also be very helpful. Thank you.
