The old peace quest is fucking devastating

Spoiler

Spoilers for the old peace, just my general thoughts on it because I finished it about an hour or two ago and I’m still not over it whatsoever.

Like what do you mean the quest starts with you fighting Adis, but then realizing you’re friends—and it ends with the exact same fight +an hour or more of emotional damage😭

Also, the more I play this game the less I like The Lotus/Natah/Margulis—she seems like she cares about the Tenno but then she basically knowingly manipulates them into nearly dying MULTIPLE times. It’s giving “I don’t care if you’re traumatized already get in the fucking kiddie pool of doom and despair and dig up some more trauma goddamnit”

I really liked the way they did the scenes and timeline in the quest, like when they put you back under and you’re on the ship and it’s on fire and they say “too far, go back” and then later you cut to the exact same scene?! It’s so delicious

Still don’t understand how Margulis just knocked the operator out like that though?? She didn’t touch them, or use a drug or anything, you just get real sleepy all of a sudden and then wake up MANY years later to discover you are asleep on the moon with no memory of how you got there. Kind of weak plot-wise on that one specific scene, but otherwise I think it was well written. I’ll admit I was distraught throughout most of it as I put the pieces together about what was happening and where all of it was going.

Plus, not specifically about this quest, although this one does a good show of what state the operator was in before they got their memory wiped, but the void haunting the operator constantly throughout the game is so existentially terrifying, it’s just enough of a horror and psychological thriller element to make you question everything, I love it—you can’t escape what in your own head, kiddo
