The Silence can be as scary as it is soothing

discussion

Hello lovely people. Welcome to day 6 of using a Reddit post as therapy.

So we all know how soothing it can be to be surrounded by silence. In nature. Away from the urban environment. That's the kind of silence that really appeals to most of us.

There is a different kind of silence though. One that's even more powerful. And this silence so much louder than most other things, ironically enough.

This appears when you're going to bed alone after a particularly rough day at work. It appears when you've had a fight with that one friend that you wished you hadn't.

This is deafening. It is beyond frightening. My night shift job is remote and I struggle to sit and work without background noise. A movie, a YouTube video, a podcast. Knowing full well that if i turn off all that noise, I will struggle to keep my composure. It will become too overwhelming. And it usually is. And then i pray, breaking down on my prayer mat. Just my cries echoing in the room. Life is not easy. But i guess that's the point.

Sorry for the disjointed post. I don't plan these beforehand so it won't really seem too great.

Thanks again for reading it with me.
