Backrooms similar to Piranesi?

SpoilerSpeculation

I just saw backrooms today and i read Susanna Clark’s Piranesi a few months back and i noticed a lot of conceptual similarities—

Like for example the backrooms is this collection of the distorted version of humanities memories, peoples impressions of the places they grew up in and around, peoples impressions of other people that are just a little bit distorted from reality.

Similarly the Place Piranesi lives in is revealed to be an extension of the human world and a collection of humanity’s knowledge.

Also the fact that spending too much time in the backrooms or in the Halls can mess with memory and cognition.

What do you guys think?
