I'm about to buy my wedding ring, and I'm feeling a little torn

Hi everyone

i personally love modern and minimalist ring designs, but my mom prefers traditional classic styles she always says Old is gold, and believes those designs never go out of style the thing is I'm worried that if I choose the ring I truly love my mom might feel hurt or disappointed at the same time, this is a ring I'll be wearing for the rest of my life, so i also want it to reflect my own taste has anyone else been in a similar situation did you choose what you loved or did you go with your familys preference I really appreciate any advice or personal experiences
