9 month old attached to dad and not me

Basically since she was born, my daughter has preferred my husband. When she was tired or hungry and was screaming, I couldn't comfort her. She only wanted dad. I told myself it's a phase and that it will flip at some point, that I will complain when that happens because it's hard to be the only one that she's attached to.

But she's now almost 9 months old and the attachment seems stronger. She has separation anxiety only with him. She cries when my husband puts her down, and if she wakes up in the middle of the night, she cries louder with me until she gets her dad.

Today, it felt like she saw me as a stranger when she was in a new place and she wasn't expecting to see me, she cried when I picked her up and reached for her dad. It broke my heart.

I've been working so hard to spend as much time as I can with her, and I put her to bed every night. I know I'm a good mom, but it's just so disheartening when she doesn't show any attachment to me. I also feel embarrassed because I know this is common with dads, but none of my mom friends have ever experienced this.

Anyone else experience this? What did you do?
