First Time Int'l Travel, any tips?

I'll be having my first international trip to Thailand and would like some help and tips. I'll be staying for a week and would love to hear some tips on the following:

- having no thai language background, how to get around talking to others?

- best food spots (near De Prime or Vince hotel)

- how to haggle respectfully

- how to not get lost

And any tips to make my stay wonderful would be much appreciated. Thanks!
