The Day I Decided Online Shopping in Ghana Could Be Better: A vision for our future

In December 2022, I ordered a pair of shoes from one of Ghana's largest e-commerce platforms.

When the package arrived, I was excited until I opened it.

Not only was the quality far below what was advertised, but I also received two different shoes that didn't even match.

At first, I laughed because I couldn't believe it.

Then I realised something bigger.

If this could happen on one of the country's biggest platforms, how many other people were having similar experiences?

That experience changed the way I thought about e-commerce.

I wasn't just disappointed by the shoes; I was disappointed by the lack of trust.

That's one of the reasons I started building Tezeon.

Our goal has never been to become just another online marketplace. We want to build a platform where trust comes first, where sellers are accountable, product information is accurate, and customers receive what they actually ordered.

We're still improving every day, and we know there's more work to do. But every feature we build starts with one question:

"Will this help customers shop with more confidence?"

That pair of mismatched shoes turned into one of the biggest lessons of my entrepreneurial journey.

Sometimes your biggest disappointment becomes the reason you build something better.
