Questions about OLED Switch Mod

Assuming So-cal modding is legit (reviews look good but still skeptical), if I were to send my switch in, I wouldn't be able to play online correct? Which isn't an issue because I only use it for local multiplayer. And second, would the game progress/games bought online be saved?

This would help my decision, thank you!
