Advice please...
I am 43, mother of a teen and pre teen, full time teacher. I have anxiety, autism, potentially adhd, occasional ibs and migraines/cervicogenic headaches.
Over the past couple of years I have really been struggling. I have put on weight and am now at my heaviest. I hate the way I look and feel. My job is incredibly demanding. I am married to another teacher who works really late and has lots of other commitments. I get overwhelmed very quickly and often cry with frustration. I am constantly hot.
I went to a doctor last year about peri and was told "well it is hot at this time of year" and that I needed to suck it up about my ibs as it isn't curable. They reluctantly ran tests but came back fine.
I have really mixed feelings about weight loss as I want to be a positive role model for my daughter and I went on diets from the age of 13. I have never been happy with the way I look and I don't want that for her, so I've been very careful about it and stopped dieting completely when I had her ten years ago.
If I go to the doctors again, what help can I ask for? My bmi is 31. I am taking a low antidepressant dose. But I'm just so fed up of feeling like utter crap and I don't know if it's peri or just the way it is at the moment. I'm just so done.
TLDR - does feeling constantly low and overwhelmed with weight gain and feeling hot suggest peri and do I keep fighting this with my doctor?
Thanks for reading 🙏
