"Champagne Problems" is Alwyn's song

i don't know a lot about the Jaylor split, but as a former swiftie i've got some knowledge. i have this huge huge guess going round my mind- i believe champagne problems depicts joe entirely. this song explicitly talks about a girl rejecting a boy's proposal over her drugs/depression issues. doesn't this sound far too much familiar? there were rumors stated that joe was struggling with severe depression and therefore couldn't offer her a life she wanted, or propose to her as she clearly craved for. i believe, joe being the songwriter along with taylor for this song, he projected his real emotions into this song. after all, a 6 year long relationship doesn't fall apart in a month. it takes months, or even years. by this song, he wanted to portray that he does love her, but he couldn't be the one, and he wants to see her happy with someone else. he had to leave her standing. because of his "champagne problems".
