Caring for your car - Only for Car Lovers

#Miscellaneous 📃

There are people who own the car and then there are people who love their car, they go to limits to maintain their car, this post is for them.

Apart from regular servicing and washing there are certain things that you can do as a car lover.

  1. Wax - Every now and then get your car waxed, it gives that pristine shine and gives a protective layer. It's better to get this done outside as it is extremely tiring to buff your entire car.

  2. 3M perfect it polish - This is truly a life safer, minor scratches, paint transfer or removing swirls from an area, minor dash marks, this works wonders, must have for every car.

  3. Windshield Wiper Fluid - this is to keep your car windshield clean as with regular water you end up scratching your windshield and the life of wiper blade also decreases.

  4. Touch Up Paint and Clear Coat - For minor touch ups, chips marks, minor scratches here and there. Body shops insist on getting entire panel repainted but there's no match to factory paint so better to keep it as long as possible.

  5. Car Shampoo - Any good PH balanced car shampoo works

  6. Good Microfiber Cloths - Keep buying this regularly and better to replace them after they leave a lot of lint or can't clean off the grease.

  7. Car lubrication spray - Life saver for door rubber, prevents squeaking noise and very handy for minor lubrication for all the rubber parts, can be used to reduce rattling as well if plastic parts are contacting each other.

  8. Annual clay wash and polish - Get your clay wash once a year to get contaminants removed and polish to gently restore shine. I am not suggesting rubbing here, better to do that when there are significant swirl marks and once in a three year period for paint longevity.

  9. Tyre Polish - To get that sleek black tyres

  10. Trim polish - To get that black colour restored on plastic parts

  11. Leather polish - For your leather wrapped steering wheel and other areas with leather.

  12. Vacuum Cleaner - For Granular dirt

  13. Interior Cleaner spray - To clean dirt from seats and interiors

  14. Rain repellant spray - Useful for car windows and ORVM during rainy season.

  15. Detailing brushes - To clean dirt from car interiors.

  16. Tyre inflator - Extremely useful during emergencies and you could routinely use it top up air into the car.

A lot of this work can be outsourced if you have the budget for it and prefer not to get into hassle. I personally outsource it to a good detailer but I have all the stuff mentioned with myself as well so if needed I do the maintenance as well.

Car lovers, if I have missed anything, please let me know I'll add them.
