Europe's economy looks great on paper — so why are 6 in 10 people at risk of depression?
GDP stable. Inflation near target. Labour markets resilient.
That's what the data says.
But a 2025 survey of Europeans tells a different story:
- 61% of private renters have little to no financial cushion
- 57% are at risk of depression — driven by financial stress and housing insecurity
- Low income households struggling to make ends meet jumped from 40% in 2023 to 61% in 2025
The economy is "recovering" — but millions haven't felt it yet.
There's a word for this gap between what leaders see and what people live.
We call it Finocracy.
This is what we discuss at Our Finocracy — the system behind the numbers, and what it means for real people.
