As a Female I don't remember learning gender roles. I remember learning Monopoly.

So it all begin 15 years ago when I was 7 Years old. Every Sunday my family would visit my grandparents. The men would be in the living room arguing about cricket before lunch was even ready, On the other hand the women's would disappear in the kitchen.
As a kid we'd run in and out asking for snacks, another glass of water, dessert, anything we wanted. Somehow we always asked our mums or aunts. Never our fathers or Uncle...NEVER. Surprise is I don't remember anyone telling us to.
By the end of the afternoon, the man were still talking. The women's were washing dishes, wrapping leftovers, making sure everybody had eaten and discussing who was taking food home.
I honestly thought that's just what Sunday's looked like. I wasn't until years later that I wondered why nobody had ever questioned it? Nobody explained those roles to us, we just watched them every weekend until they fell Normal.... But should it??

Looking back what's something from your childhood that you accepted without question but see completely different today?
