Being 25 and stuck at home post college is so fucking draining
Sorry if this feels negative but I need a place to vent this frustration. I 25F finished my undergraduate degree and have been back at home for my gap year to prepare for my post graduate admissions exam.
It's so exhausting to have typical indian anxious parents at home when you've lived a life alone elsewhere and you know your capabilities and weaknesses and are trying to live life on your own terms.
I'm currently in an online coaching academy, and just realised that their method of revision isn't working for me and it's really frustrating. Every morning I wake up , my dad wants a military level status report, when did my online class start, what time is the break, when did it end , when did I study , when did I sleep, when is the next test, what mark did I get, did I improve from the previous test. What's the next subject, send him the updated schedule, what's the plan for the allotted one break day in the month I get, because break days are not for relaxing, they're for catching up.
It's so fucking frustrating because it's turning into worrying about being answerable to my parents, more than figuring out what works out best for me. Because I don't want to keep answering more questions because of my personal decision to change my schedule and not follow the online coaching revision schedule.
It feels pathetic that I'm 25 and I still feel like a fucking child . They don't realise how much their anxious questioning has been affecting me. Attending classes that don't feel productive just because I don't want to explain each and every decision change.
I'm fed up now. It has come down to me deciding to just let the class run in the background so I can answer their questions each morning about the class and schedule while I stay locked up in my room like always and just prepare how ever I like.
Does this sound pathetic? Am I wrong for feeling this way and being secretive about my decisions or is it just survival. Thoughts?
