Land grabbing issue in Hyderabad, Telangana
I am seeking guidance and assistance regarding an ongoing property dispute in Hyderabad, Telangana, involving alleged forgery, impersonation, and attempts to unlawfully obtain my land.
My parents and I were born and raised in Hyderabad. After my marriage, I relocated to the United States, where I have lived for more than 34 years. I remain an Indian citizen. Over the past year, I have been dealing with individuals who, I believe, have attempted to fraudulently acquire my property through fabricated documents and misrepresentation. I have compiled substantial documentary and electronic evidence, including communications, recordings, and other supporting material.
I filed an FIR after discovering what I believe to be a fabricated agreement of sale, forged signatures, a fake email account created in my name, and communications with builders while impersonating me. More recently, I became aware of a notarized receipt that appears to contain additional clauses and altered formatting that I believe were inserted to support false claims regarding my property.
I approached senior police officials and filed a complaint, but despite the registration of my FIR, I have not seen meaningful progress in the investigation. During this period, I also received threats to my safety and experienced incidents that caused me to fear for my well-being, prompting me to return to the United States on two occasions in 2026.
While I was in the United States, another FIR was reportedly registered against me. I was not informed of this despite visiting the police department several times in June 2026. I am currently trying to understand the basis of that complaint and the legal implications.
In December 2025, I was allegedly threatened that a complaint would be made against me under FEMA if I refused to sell my property. To the best of my knowledge, I have not violated FEMA regulations. The property was purchased using funds generated and earned in India, not through foreign remittances.
I have been handling this matter largely on my own, although I have the full support of my children, who live in the United States. Since I have spent most of my adult life abroad, I am unfamiliar with many aspects of the current legal and administrative processes in India.
I would be grateful for guidance from anyone who has experience with similar property disputes or can recommend experienced legal counsel in Hyderabad, particularly advocates with expertise in property fraud, forgery, criminal litigation, and constitutional remedies before the High Court.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Any advice or recommendations would be sincerely appreciated.
