Watching my breеd die
I have skye terriers, a breеd so rare that there are more giant pandas than skyes.
I have spent over 1000$ this month just getting my dogs out and educating people on the breеd. This has been a consistent thing, I have poured everything I have into this breеd and it's so devastating because even if I give this breеd everything I can I'll likely see them sputter out into extinction.
Pretty much all skyes come from ethical preservation brеeders. No one has a litter of puppies unless there are homes already lined up. The issue isn't a lack of brеeders, there are plenty. The issue is a lack of puppy buyers.
This year there have been no skye terrier litters born in the US. Not a single puppy.
I take my dogs to meet the brеed events, we go to dog shows, I even carry information cards in my purse in case anyone asks about them when they see them. What more can I be doing? I'm genuinely wanting to know.
