(It’s nightfall as you start getting ready to sleep in the pokémon center. Suddenly, the power goes out. You quickly get dressed & go into the lobby to ask the Nurse Joy, until you see outside: the whole city has gone dark! Nurse Joy appears, using a lamp to light her surroundings a bit)

Nurse Joy: Oh no, not again! And there wasn’t any rain or wind either! Gosh, I hope the gym leader is ok…

(You hear this & realize the opportunity you just got, so you leave the center towards the marketplace. On the way, you see people activating generators, mostly solar-powered, and others sharing candles or batteries for their lamps. When you reach the marketplace, you see people confused & worried. One of them is Estafa, who is closing her store)

Estafa:…Huh? Oh it’s you! Well as you can see we have a blackout, again, but the backup generator didn’t turn on for some reason. Come, help me find it.

(You don’t know what you can do, but follow anyway. You go into the sidewalk behind the stores, where products are delivered through trucks to them. Estafa checks the wall, mumbling stuff like “where is it?” until she feels something. She then grabs & opens a door the same color as the wall)

Estafa: Of course those Lux corpos pricks would hide the door-Hey what are you doing here!?

(Inside is Jerricho, with a lit screen on a weird machine. This must be the generator, you think, although it looks different from any other generator you’ve seen)

Jerricho(nervously): Now wait, this isn’t what it looks like.
Estafa(preparing a punch): It looks like you just damaged our generator! Now to find out why…
???: Wait, he’s saying the truth!

(From behind the generator, young Dinah comes out, with a bunch of burnt wires in her hands)

Dinah: He was near me when the lights went out. He found the door and was trying to fix the generator, and I found out why it broke(showing the wires).
Estafa:….Jerricho, this true?
Jerricho: I swear, I didn’t do anything bad…well, not this anyway. I just looked into the generator’s programming. It was PURPOSEFULLY given commands to over-generate, specifically to damage itself.
Estafa(surprised): Why would it-oh, to force us to buy another.
Jerricho: My best guess…
Dinah(determined): Come on, let’s fix this!

(The three of you look at each other with caution, but decide to work together. Jerricho gets through the generator’s programming, Dinah uses new wires to fix part of the device, Estafa helps in both areas while you get some of the items needed. Finally after about half an hour, the generator turns on and the lights return. You hear a wave of light celebration from outside, as Estafa puts her hand on Jerricho’s shoulder with a genuine grin. Jerricho’s stress goes away into a soft smile, while Dinah hugs them both)

(As you stand back to take the scene, you press something on the floor that lights up. Suddenly you’re teleported into a battlefield, surrounded by metal walls. You look around, but quickly notice you are alone. Then you hear someone teleporting to the other side…)

Estafa: Hey you ok? You just disappeared and-oh…you found it a bit early…(shrugs) Well, since we’re here…

(Estafa sent out a Minior)
