Need Advice Regarding Extended Cousins in Joota Churai

HELP ME DECIDE! 🌀

I have one biological sister, three close cousin sisters, and around twelve other extended cousin sisters who are the daughters of my father's cousins. The thing is, I don't really have any bond with those twelve cousins—we're not close at all. During a difficult period when my family was struggling financially, they treated us differently and were never supportive. Now that we're doing very well financially, they've suddenly become very friendly and keep saying they'll be taking money during the Joota Churai ceremony. My question is: Is it customary or expected for all of them to participate in the Joota Churai ceremony? If they don't participate, am I still expected to give them money? Since I don't share a close relationship with them, would it be appropriate to politely ask them not to participate, or would that be considered rude or disrespectful?
