Newbie sci-fi writer looking for honest feedback.

Hi,

I recently started publishing chapters of my first novel: Space Wyrm - Rex Files.

It is a dark sci-fi / military sci-fi story focused on Lucy, a girl found in a warzone by the leader of a mercenary group. She is not a regular harmless child, and the story is not about “fixing” her into someone normal. It is more about what happens when a damaged child with dangerous instincts is taken in by people who are also damaged, armed, and not exactly normal themselves.

The early story focuses on Lucy slowly becoming Rex: learning trust, rules, control, movement, weapons, and how to live around people without losing the teeth that kept her alive.

It has found-family elements, mercenary characters, trauma, training, dark humor, and a larger sci-fi setting that expands over time.

I’m still new to writing so feedback is very welcome.

The first eight chapters are already up and close the initial arc. From here, I plan to publish new chapters Monday through Friday.
