Naming animals after Gods/Goddesses? Opinions?

Opinions on naming animals after Gods or Goddesses or other deities? So I have Highland cows, one of them whom is my best friend. I've been with him since he was a calf. I spend nearly all my time outside with him, he follows me around like a shadow. And so I named him Apollo when he was born, but apparently many think it's disrespectful to name animals after deities like that.

Personally I don't believe so, he's loved and cherished. And he felt like an Apollo when he was born, so the name came to me naturally. And as much as I know it doesn't directly stand anything about it being disrespectful to do so.

Do you guys have any opinions on this topic?
