Well anyone faced voltage surge problems with wbsedcl..?

I have a BLDC fan and during the morning, the fan made a firecracker noise.

Upon checking, the MOVs were blown.

I added them externally since voltage surge happens here in my area.

And my parents blame the bldc fan... like why?
