Made redundant while pregnant
I’m 10 weeks, was made redundant recently and it really sucks!
It was a fully remote job and we’d planned to move elsewhere in the uk to be closer to family and my partner would do a longer commute 2-3 days a week. Now I need to find a new job- there aren’t many remote roles going so will have to find something in office and because of this we can’t move because we can’t afford for 2 commutes and can’t move before finding a job in the new location because I haven’t got proof of earnings to put on a lease!
It just really sucks because what I had envisioned for us and this baby is now out of my hands and I can’t help but feel really really sad.
I’m doing interviews for jobs now that tbh I just don’t even want/care about because I’ll be there 5/6 months only, won’t get mat pay either.
I’m considering just trying to find a remote job that’s not in my industry just to get us by so I don’t have to go into an office and commute around London while I’m pregnant and feeling rough.
Just needed to get a vent out!
It would be great to hear peoples ‘blessing in disguise’ or ‘silver lining’ stories just to give me some hope it will all work out :)
