For anyone sitting **Exam #00-034020 (Teachers' Retirement Examiner 1)** Saturday, July 11th.

Per the official [cs.ny.gov](http://cs.ny.gov/) announcement, this exam tests four subjects, and two of them each have a dedicated guide:

* **Preparing Written Material** (118 pages, 9 chapters): grammar and usage, restatement, sentence ordering
* **Understanding and Interpreting Written Material** (165 pages, 11 chapters): main ideas, locating facts, inference

The exam also tests Arithmetic Reasoning and Customer Service, which no current guide covers, so this bundle covers two of the four subjects.

**Both guides are built the same way**:

* Practice questions after each chapter, with full answer explanations
* Insight into how the exam writers build the wrong answers and what they are really looking for
* Tips for staying disciplined and managing your time under pressure
* A full cumulative practice exam with a complete answer key

The bundle of both guides is **15%** off the individual sum: **$23.78**.

Full breakdown of every July 11th exam, with bundle and individual options, is on the upcoming exams page: [NYS Civil Service Exam Schedule & Study Guides (2026)](https://studycivilservice.com/upcoming-exams/)

**Good luck on Saturday!!**
