Over limit purchase

Lemme give you 2 scenario provided my credit limit is 80000 & the product I want to purchase costs 102000 without cc offer.

Scenario 1:

I prepay/overpay credit card bill by 20000

So, my outstanding amount (-20000) & available credit limit 100000

Now, non EMI discount given on this card is 5000

So final cost of the product 97000

Purchase done

Outstanding amount becomes 77000

Just a few hours after the purchase I pay 70000 rs on the credit card on the same day (far before bill generation)

So,now the outstanding amount is 7000.

Q: 1) is purchase this way possible? 2) will it be considered for over limit transaction fee or not as the purchase exceed given credit limit yet within the available credit limit at the time of purchase?

Scenario 2:

Prepay/overpay bill as Same as earlier.

Here, EMI discount given is 7000

Final cost of the product 95000

3 months EMI option selected so no processing fee charged (as per sbi card rule)

Interest is around 3000

No cost EMI available

So 3000 out of 95000 will be seen as interest

92000 in card will be blocked

Available credit limit in card 100000

Purchase done

Now available credit limit 8000

& Outstanding amount 72000

Just a few hours of purchase I paid 70000 on cc bill

Outstanding amount becomes 2000

EMI conversion is expected within 2-3 days

As actual given credit limit is 80000

So blocking 92000 seems unreasonable

EMI conversion fails

Questions:

  1. Is purchase in this way even possible?

Only if yes -

  1. In case , EMI conversion fails, it's expected that bank will reverse the 3000 no cost EMI discount (which is to be procured in form of interest but actually it's not interest rather part of the product cost) & add it to current month statement, right?

  2. If it's a cost EMI purchase, then already 95000 is said to be blocked so there won't be any addition of 3000 interest ( Emi fails so no interest) - right?

  3. Hope, bank won't reverse the EMI purchase discount i.e. 7000 rs because bank has paid the seller 95000 so bank has no right to take 102000 from me. - right?
