Recurring dream where I’m ready to write an exam with old classmates from 7th grade (people I no longer contact)

​I frequently have a recurring dream where I am back in a school classroom completely ready to write an exam I am always surrounded by old classmates that I haven't had any contact with in years the characters in the classroom change from dream to dream I usually forget most of them when I wake up but I distinctly remember that in two of these dreams the guys were specifically from my 7th grade class ​why does my brain keep choosing this specific setting and casting people from my distant past when I don't even think about them in daily life? Has anyone experienced something similar?
