How much are you guys paying for contact lenses in 2026?

Serious Answers Only

I just came out of my first contact lenses appointment from Spec Savers and while I was delighted with the appointment, I am scratching my head a bit at the price of wearing these and wondering if I can even justify the cost. They offered me a plan where in order to be able to wear them every day, it would cost about £40 a month. If I wore them part time, it would be less obviously

Having just done some very surface level googling, this seems a lot compared to what I’ve read other people are paying, but that’s why I’m making this post to make sure I’m not overpaying. Is there a cheaper alternative with them that I could go for? I did ask about this, but the reusable options they gave me barely came out much cheaper. Is this just what contact cost now? I also just found out my prescription has changed again so I’m staring down needing new glasses as well so I’m just trying to be sensible.
