You dream about him, think about him every second of the day, obsess over him. Lord is he handsome. You don't even mind how bad he smells.

You're a fine ass shieldmaiden with glorious blonde hair and horse riding skills that put the men to shame, plus you're the king's niece so who wouldn't want you?

Okay girl, lock in, make him some stew. Everyone says they love your stew.

Shit. Didn't work.

Turns out your dream man is actually in love with an immortal elf princess. Well damn. If you're the shit she's the entire waste management factory.

So you fall back, let your soulmate move on with his love, and start playing the field.

Oh, who is this guy? Goes by the name Faramir? He's cute. Ive heard Boromir was cuter but what can you do. And he IS a sort of royalty so why not make it work?

You fall in love with him, have kids, and live a happy life. Your kids are healthy, happy and thrive, always looking to you two as their foundation of understanding and safety in the world. They say that one day they want a love as pure as yours.

Time passes. Your hair grows grey. Things are great. You almost forget your obsession with the ranger.

Then one day your favorite grandchild, grown and mature, comes to you with a manuscript he wrote. Its being heralded as the greatest love story ever written, more so than even the legend of Beren and Luthien. You smile sheepishly and crack it open to give it a read. Is it about you and your love Faramir? Is it about the years of joy you spent together in perfect harmony?

It's about the goddamn ranger and his elf wife.

What the fuck.

So you fell in love with the mysterious ranger that has the airs of a king.
