The most impossible to predict Fantasy I've ever played
I've been playing Fantasy football games for years (FPL, UCL, Sofascore, Euro, WC, CWC) and I consider myself a pretty okay player, with a couple of 1k finishes in the UCL and some decent FPL ranks and stuff.
In this game though, I can't seem to get anything right? I feel like someone watching football for the first time, let alone playing fantasy. On MD3, out of the top 10 teams in Clean Sheet odds that have played so far.
Only 3 have kept a CS: Ivory Coast, Senegal and Spain. From these teams I picked Konan, who randomly got benched after literally never getting benched. He played every single available minute in the 2022 AFCON, started every game in the 2024 version (all the way to the final) and only didn't start one game in the 2025/26 version. But I guess he really needed the rest this time. Also picked Koulibaly, I know he had a stinker vs Norway, but against Iraq it was the perfect game to bounce back, secure a CS and maybe even score from a corner. He is their captain, a top 3 player EVER for them and prior to the Iraq game he had literally started every single big competition game he was ever available to play. But just like Konan, I guess he really needed the rest in this one.
Every other team I picked defenders from (Netherlands, Belgium, South Korea etc) have simply conceded, some of them the dumbest goals. Thankfully Hakimi had an amazing performance and I got points from someone.
Midfield and attack, same shit. Mane blank on a 5-0 win against Iraq. Doku blank on a 5-1 win against New Zealand. Gakpo blank on a 3-1 win against the worst team in the competition. Sold Vini last minute to get Yamal for two reasons: 1) wanted an extra captaincy option, 2) Scotland are notorious for sitting back and just needed a draw or even not conceding much, while Uruguay needed the win. In the end, Scotland randomly decided they want to play open football against... Brazil, while Spain only scored once vs Uruguay.
Literally only Hakimi, Saibari and Mbappe are my only players (so far) who bothered to do something, everyone else are useless.
Rant over. Is anyone else sharing the same frustration? I genuinely feel like watching football for the first time in this WC, what do you mean players like David or Brobbey are among the best strikers now? lol
