My Opinion on how james gunn is building his world

I think it makes sense if you look at it as a web that starts with superman

Then we go to his supporting cast

Green lantern show

Supergirl

We then go to his supporting villains

Rick flag

And then from rick flag , we can spin two piecemaker and creature commando

It's a fairly interesting interesting web that lets the world feel extremely fleshed out and lived in, unlike the mcu , where every character seems to exist in an isolated space , this helps tie a lot of characters and the world together.

Now clay face is odd BUT we have

Cape crusider S2

NightFall trilogy

Joker laugh riot

Absolutel batman show

Batman part 2

So it's not like we're starved from batman, plus clayface gives us a unique opportunity to seek gathering It's inner workings , it's police and potentially build background for James gunns batman, instead of batman existing energy , generic city , with not much in the background, starting with clayface , could give us a lot of background information and scenery to add me to what is normally just the backdrop or in generic world of batman movies ( a lot of batman movies just don't give much attention to anything outside the plant and use gotham as just a place)

It's certainly a slower route, but it has the potential to create significantly larger and more packed World.

Plus iron man , captain america and thor were exactly big name characters back in the day, this focus on your main characters , instead of silly non existent side character's argument is exactly what a lot of people said when marvel's started producing stuff that wasn't spider man or fantastic 4.

It's nice to see characters like mister miracle, getting the Spotlight , and if it's successful , we might finally PLZ GOD get static shock

Of course , however , does to run the risk of anything general audiences, creating more friction with snyder fans and losses look far worse and could scare studios into not wanting to take risk, it's going to take significantly longer a lot of people are willing to be patient for ( this could be supplemented by giving us more else world stories), and all of this could risk losing a potential static shock movie

Of course , I am always happy to hear critiques of his world building
