Fpv drone Vs Rc plane (who are they for)?

I have looked into building both an rc plane and an fpv drone (i want the diy route) after coming from the dji 04 pro. Im aware both require very good skills but i find the fun in learning them. What i dont know though is which way to go, i haev a limited budget so both is not an option (for now) but i do want to get the best set up for pure aerobatic exitement and good quality footage. I have looked into 5 inch feestyle drones and they have the exact thrill im looking for, only thing is they are noisy. How does a plane comparw to this in terms of exitement and footage, and who are each of them for (personal opinoins wanted) ?
