choosing a career after university ( law / academics)

hello, I am trying to figure out what to do once I'm done with university and I don't have anyone to guide me through this and I was hoping you all could help. My qualifications are a bachelor's degree in history.

My main two choices are going into academics ( research and eventually teaching uni) and getting a llb degree. I would appreciate some candid advice about which is a better choice and what is the path to doing either. Please be harsh and blunt , I would really appreciate it.

I mainly want to learn what is the procedure for going down either path.
