The Dollar's Fragile Foundation: How Close Are We to Collapse?
The US dollar has lost 97% of its value since 1913. What happens when it hits zero?
Most people don't realize the dollar is not backed by gold anymore — it's backed by trust. And trust can collapse overnight.
I've been researching this topic for weeks and some of the findings are genuinely unsettling:
- In 1971, Nixon ended the gold standard quietly. Nobody voted on it.
- Since then, the US has printed money at an exponential rate
- The countries holding the most US debt (China, Japan) are slowly reducing their holdings
- A growing number of nations are now trading oil in non-dollar currencies
So here's my honest question to this community:
If the dollar collapsed tomorrow — not gradually, but overnight — what would your life look like in 30 days?
Would your savings be wiped out? Would supply chains break? Would the government step in or collapse too?
I put together a short cinematic documentary on exactly this scenario if anyone wants to go deeper: https://youtu.be/aVi51QabRPY
But genuinely curious what this community thinks. Are we closer to this than people realize?
