Disclosing health info - WLW ‘how to’ opinions
I’ve recently been diagnosed with HSV1g (herpes down below). I don’t know exactly when, how or who. I am still in shock because I have only had sex within a handful of committed WLW relationships and I am very careful with sexual hygiene. But, with a high prevalence of asymptomatic carriers in the population now, many of which don’t even know they have it, nobody is 100% safe. What I would like respectful WLW opinions on is how and when would you be most comfortable being informed of a positive HSV1g status by a potential sexual partner? i.e: before even going on a first date? Or after a first date, once it is clear there is attraction and potential for sex in the near future? Would you be comfortable being told in person or would you prefer to be told over phone call or via text? etc. I already know disclosing will likely result in rejection and, I accept that because informed consent is non-negotiable for me personally. Thank you.
