put up a bird feeder for a relaxing hobby and now i have a bitter rivalry with a blue jay

got some cheap binoculars last month to get away from screens. it was nice for a week just watching the regular birds. then this one blue jay showed up and took over the yard. he chases off the smaller birds, eats everything in ten minutes, and screams at my window if the feeder runs out. i did not expect birdwatching to turn into a daily standoff with an aggressive animal that weighs less than a phone. does anyone else have a peaceful hobby that accidentally introduced an annoying enemy into your life
