Blood-thinning injections

General Discussion

Hi all,

First time posting here. I hope it is ok to ask for your experience as I am not looking for medical advice.

As we all know the rollercoaster in IVF is a never ending ride. Therefore, I am not going to bother you with all the negativity but we are expecting 2 lovely twins 🤩.

We have been suggested blood-thinning treatment precautionary due to age, over 40, and carrying twins. There is a minor thalassemias issue but no thrombosis issue or past history in the family (though the father’s father got thrombosis issue but I bet that is not relevant).

We are not going to refuse of course, doctors know better than us but I wonder if it is a common practice. Appointment with the doctor will be around 18 weeks.

Do you also take blood-thinning medication? Is this a normal procedure? What is your experience with that?

TIA
