Why is the bus route service update boxes (newly installed) so big and why the button separated from the box?

I have so many questions how this was designed and I think it could have been a lot simpler design for accessibility. Firstly, I love the bus route service boxes as it's finally in accessible height for many people especially disabled passengers. But I have criticism.

1. Why is it so big and clunky?

2. Should the button and the box be together?

3. Weirdly low-light display at night 🥲

4. Screen protector is cheap plastic

5. Accessible sound should be louder
